Define Viral:
User endorsed and user shared
What makes a viral campaign?
Just a really good idea.
When your client says I want Viral what do you do:
Embrace it
Simplicity goes a long way in viral marketing tactics.
What makes something viral?
Simple, Useful, Shiny
You know it when you see it.
Something that fulfills the need to feel included.
Viral is when you loose control of it.
Something that appeals to many different people for different reasons.
Perretti: Search and Clicking are private but to be Viral something has to have a social imperative.
Also something that can be sent to a broad number of people in your network.
Again the idea comes up that 'viral' campaigns need to be launched and then tweaked in real time until it is working.
Rob thinks the greatest killer of ideas is lawyers.
Guy in audience: If i get it from my mom or my GFs mom then I know it's viral since they can barely use email. but in all seriousness, how best to make sharing easiest for even the most non-tech savvy?
Gigya! and tools like it. Creative Commons! Plugins! from Yahoo! buzz and other sharing communities.
Internesing article!
I might have to mention this on my site, if that's OK with you?
