Squeeze surprise!

I got a present, today in the form of a video. Brian, a filmmaking artist in Ohio just emailed me a link to his remix for the Squeeze project!

Check it out

I hadn't thought about Squeeze in a while. The Squeeze game is a videoblog remix collaborative project that started very organically long long ago when it was just me and Charlene and a handful of other folks putting their little videos on the Internet. Here is a link to the original post I made one night when i was feeling uninspired, the day after I posted that Charlene gave us 2 simple rules and made this video. Squeeze doesn't get much promotion from us, because we started it before all of that, but I know we are both proud of it because it was a fun, successful, little experiment and it helped keep us sane during some crazy days. So mostly it just sits loosely linked, on various blogs as an archive.

But someone stumbled across it and they were inspired to make something!

Squeeze is a game. It is also a way to pass coded messags between players. Anyone may join. Take previous incarnation, remove, add, scratch, push, pull, poke, prod but keep it to 1MB and 1min.

Here we go again.

If you haven't seen the whole Squeeze series, follow the links in the '1..2..3..Squeeze' list on the right side of the page.
I also have posted a  short video from vloggercon, of me explaining how it all began.

SQUEEZE ME!

Squeeze_meezHere we have yet another entry in the Game of Squeeze. A video collaboration where we can add, change, delete or otherwise alter the clip without making it any larger of a file. Last wasCharlene's turn and now it'e me again. This time my idea was to literally squeeze the video and audio tracks.

This is another addition to the game SQUEEZE. You can see all the previous incarnations in the sidebar at right called '1..2..3 Squeeze'. Adding back some of the original imagery, it deteriorated rather quickly. Also added some more nostalgic sound and well..there's other changes but you'll just have to watch and see if you can catch them. I am going to post a playlist (from Me-TV of the whole thing. Its' pretty interesting to watch it all run at once.

This is another addition to the SQUEEZE variations. SQUEEZE is a game where a short video clip is passed around via internet and players can add to or otherwise alter it. The trick is to maintain the clips original size (under 1MB!). I am keeping track of this games progress with a list of links on the right hand side of this page.

SQUEEZE

A new collaborative video project has spawned. It is called SQUEEZE. It started with my counting video which I though was pretty silly. Then Charlene cut it and Leslye scratched it  and now it's getting interesting. The object of this game is to keep the video at the same size (max 1 meg) while using some of the material that's already there to remix.

This is my art making dream comming true. It's collaborative (one of my collaborators I have never even met), contemporary (always in a state of change), experiential, spontaneous, performative, open source.. did I miss any? oh, yeah it looks good and it's FUN!

I linked to it on the right side of this page so you can follow along. I will also use this to try out this playlist feature on Me-tv.
