Pea Time!
Its Pea time!!! Summer is here and so are The Vegetables. My CSA began it's season last week. I will be making a food show based on the bounty of it's weekly delivery. Raising awareness about CSAs is a major issue for me. I have been a member of one since college in DC - Bull Run Farm. You can see a picture of Leigh, the coolest farmer ever, read his blog and find out why i call him this.
Being a CSA member has changed the way i think about food, eating, cooking, living. It helps my allergies and my state of mind.
Politically, supporting local farms is one of the best and simplest ways you can help manifest immediate change.
If you want more info on how to find a CSA in your community - the USDA will help you!
This is the first video I a made with my new fancy camera. The most exciting thing is that I was able to make it look like it was filmed by my old Super8 camera. woo! peas!

Yeah! A CSA! I just found out about these last month, just in time to join one (Three Sisters Farm in Montague, MA). Next week is my first delivery. I can't wait. Hopefully CSAs will become as popular in the 00s as Whole Foods became in the 90s and people will buy into the idea that local food is better food-- both for you, your community, and the environment.
